On a barren planetoid, diplomats from Earth and Dregocia meet to discuss peace.

Humans from Earth and a genetically-engineered race from Dregocia meet to work out a peace accord. The shuttle carrying the Dregocian delegation malfunctions and crashes, while the delegation from Earth watches in horror.
